A few months ago I hosted the 2020 Crafty Beanie Swap where makers all over the world got to make and swap beanies with another crocheter or knitter.
100% of the proceeds went to wildlife relief efforts over in Australia after the devastating bush fires burnt up most of their home.
We were able to raise nearly $2800.00 this year!
After all the beanie buddy info went out and everyone got busy making their beanies, something completely unexpected showed up at my house.

When I thanked Elliot for her generous gift she told me the beanie was her original design! Y’all this beanie is stunning and fits like a dream!
I knew I had to share it with you guys.
The design is called The Willing Writer and you can find it ABSOLUTELY FREE in Elliot’s Ravelry shop.
The one she made me was made using Handmade Modern yarn from Target in the color Cactus. She said it also works up great in other worsted weight yarns like Caron Simply Soft, Caron One Pound, Red Heart Super Saver, and Lion Brand Heartland.
If I ever get a chance to work this beanie up for a little selfish crochet I will be trying Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn or Yarn Bee Soft and Sleek.
