Attention all crochet business owners! Do you struggle to manage your time when trying to work on your crochet business? If so you’re not alone!

Juggling being a mom, a wife, a business owner all at the same time is really hard. Especially when you add in trying to take care of your physical health! Or maybe you have a day job that takes up a lot of your time.

Today I am going to share with you a free, simple tip you can do on your iPhone to help you start managing your time better and get more accomplished with what time you do have to work on your business.

It’s called “Focus.”

With the “Focus” tool, you can selectively turn off notifications from any app or contact, enabling you to work without any interruptions.

A fun thing about Focuses is you can set a wallpaper for each one! For my work focus I have an intentional, branded wallpaper with my color hex codes so I can easily glance down at my phone to see them.

How to Set up a “Focus”

Go to “Settings

Scroll until you see “Focus”

You can choose from the options “Do Not Disturb”, “Sleep”, and “Work”. Or you can tap the plus sign in the right-hand corner and create your own.

You can select “Share Across Devices”, this allows your focus to be active on all your Apple devices that use your Apple ID.

For this tutorial, we will be hitting the plus sign in the upper right-hand corner to create a new “Focus”.

Select “Custom”

Name your “focus”! Here you can change the color and icon.

Tap next. Then Tap “Customize Focus”.

On this screen, you can choose the people you want to ALLOW notifications from or choose to SILENCE notifications from certain people.

Tap “Next” in the upper right-hand corner.

This screen is where you can choose what calls to allow. If you select the “Allowed People Only” that will be the people you selected in the last section.

Tap “Done” in the upper right-hand corner.

Now you can choose what apps to allow notifications from.

Tap “Done” in the upper right-hand corner.

If you scroll down, you will see the “Customize Screens” section.

This will allow you to upload your custom wallpaper or use any of your current photos as your wallpaper.

Tap “Done” in the upper right-hand corner.

Now you can choose the layout of your “Home Screen”.

Tap “Done” in the upper right-hand corner.

Scroll a little more until you reach the “Set a Schedule” section.

Tap “Smart Activation”, move the slider to turn on “Smart Activation”.

Now you can set a schedule.

The time option is great if you have set hours you want to work.

Location is great if you go to an office, you can set your office address here and every time you arrive at that location your phone will turn on your focus.

The app option would be great if you want to have a reading focus, you can select apps and select “books” so every time you open the books app your focus turns on.

Once you set your schedule tap “Done” in the upper right-hand corner.

The last section is “Focus Filters” These help you remove distractions from apps.

Tap “Add Filter”

I like to filter my “messages” app. I select “Filter by People List”

This makes it so I only see messages from the people I selected earlier. All other messages will go to your notification center, and you can check them whenever you want.

I would highly recommend silencing all social media apps like Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok.

Now your focus is complete!

If you want to manually set your focus you can swipe down from the top right-hand corner of your phone screen.

Find “focus” on the left-hand side, and select which focus you want to activate.

Congratulations, you have completed the tutorial! By implementing the “Focus” tool, you will now be able to work with fewer distractions. This will make you more productive and more efficient!

Feel free to set other focuses for different areas of your life! The more efficient you are in your life the easier creating the crochet business of your dreams will be.

❤️ Ashley
