Embroider the Eyes
Using black embroidery thread, embroider the eyes over the first rnd of the eye patches.
Once you have added the black, use white embroidery thread to add the white details. If you are using safety eyes, please reference the next section.
Safety eye option
If you would like to use safety eyes for your raccoon, you will need to place them through the eyepatches and the head, before you add the stuffing and close the head.
When you get to rnd 14 on the head, place the safety eyes into the middle of rnd 1 on the eye patches, and through rnds 9&10 of the head approx 4 sts away from the increases on each side. There should be 8 or 9 sts in between the safety eyes. Make sure they are spaced evenly before you place the backs. You will need to sew the eye patches to the head once you close the head.
Add the white eye detail after you sew on the eye patches.
For the sample shown, I used Scheepjes Stonewashed Sport Weight and 9mm safety eyes. For Stonewashed XL I would use 10 or 12mm eyes.
