Did you take advantage of Hobby Lobby’s yarn clearance sale they had at the beginning of the summer? I couldn’t believe it when I saw skeins of I Love This Yarn for only $0.99!! I bought almost every colorway my Hobby Lobby had on their shelf, with the hopes of making a whole bunch of Messy Bun Beanies for my fall prep! I would just like to point out, there is nothing wrong with the clearance yarn, Hobby Lobby was just discontinuing these colors so they marked it down to get it off the shelves faster.

The last two winters, messy bun beanies have been really popular (especially last winter), so I am trying to plan ahead this year so I can stay caught up on orders as best I can. I’m excited to add all these fun colors to my shop this year! I usually don’t offer a bunch of variegated options because its more expensive than the solid colors and my profit margins are smaller, but with the clearance sale, I am able to list all kinds of variegated yarn colors and still keep my profit margins where I like them 😀
I currently have 3 Messy Bun Beanie crochet patterns available in my shop! My best selling beanie, by far, is the Claire Bun Beanie. I made this pattern available so other makers can make and sell Claire Bun Beanies during beanie season too!

I wanted to make a Claire Bun Beanie in each of the new yarn colors I got on clearance so you guys can see how they work up! The color name will be in the caption under each photo. They are all Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn brand.

Each one of the clearance yarn colorways made a BEAUTIFUL Clare Bun Beanie, but I think if I had to choose a favorite it would be the Wild Flower Winds color. I’m a little bias though because those colors were my school colors in middle and high school.

My favorite that I was able to buy is pasha. But my favorite by far of all the clearance yarn is fantasy and I’m sad I didn’t get to buy any of it not in cotton either. I also like the wild flower winds, I’m currently making a homebody sweater w the skeins I got of that.

There are so many beautiful colorways! I love Pasha the most though because I can just imagine some adorable baby beanies with it.

We don’t have a Hobby Lobby here, the nearest one is closet o 200 miles away so I’ve never tried their yarn until I recently ordered some of their I love this cotton (I gotta say, not a fan) But I love the look of all your Claire Bun Beanies especially the one in Firecracker! Some of these colors will be missed! I think they need to have a vote so customers can express which yarns are most popular. So many of the colors are so pretty! I will go with Turquoise Sky.

Funny story, last Christmas my boyfriend asked his mom want she wanted for the holiday and she said a crochet bun beanie, and I was like awesome, I’ll make one for her. The crazy thing is that she had no idea that i even crocheted! So she is obsessed with the beanie and everyone she shows loves it. The relevance to you is that, I bought the Claire Bun Beanie pattern to make it and it was great. I’m still pretty new to crochet and it’s a great pattern and design.

Oooo I love the sea spray stripes! I’m really into blues and teals lately. And the pattern is just the cutest! I love them all. I’ve never used that brand of yarn as I’m in Canada and our selection is the worst. But it looks amazing!

I love the fantasy and firecracker colorways! I totally love the pattern too! I plan on buying it here in the next few weeks… my teenagers and I all wear our hair in messy buns or ponies. I kind of want to make some for my daughters cheer team… when it’s cold but high ponies and bows are a must!
