A Crafty Beanie Swap

A couple weeks ago, I reached out on Instagram to see if there were any knitters that would be interested in doing a beanie swap with me! I love the look of knitted beanies, but sadly I can not knit to save my life. Luckily, Ashley, from Dexterously Made offered to swap with me! I sent her a Double Brim Claire Bun Beanie and she sent me a Double Brim Knit Beanie. I am so obsessed with my new knit beanie and I wear it every chance I get.

Since Ashley and I had such a pleasant experience swapping beanies, I thought it would be fun to host a massive beanie swap, where all kinds of different knitwear makers can swap beanies with one another. If this sounds like something you would be interested in participating in, continue reading!

I will be modeling the Beanie Swap after the Holiday Gift Swap that was hosted by 3 am Grace Designs a few weeks ago. She’s been doing swaps for a few years now, so I thought I better learn from the master ????.

My goal for this beanie swap is for everyone involved to both send and receive a handmade beanie. This is a great way to meet new people in our community, receive awesome handmade goodness and share your amazing talent with another maker who can fully appreciate all the work and love you put into it.

Here’s how it will work

I have made a Beanie Swap Entry Fee listing on Etsy for $5.00. You will have to purchase the Entry Fee in order to participate. This just helps guarantee everyone who sends a beanie will also receive one. If for some reason a maker is unable to send a beanie (I know life happens sometimes), the entry fee will cover an Angel Beanie that will be sent in its place. All remaining funds from the entry fees will be donated to my Church’s Adoption Fund, I am not hosting this swap to make any money. Since the money will be donated, there will be no refunds, ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

With the Entry Fee purchase, you will also receive some digital files! I have included a sharable pic formatted for Instagram, one formatted for Instagram stories, and a PDF sheet that has some fun Beanie Swap printables for you guys to use if you would like! The PDF has a Beanie Swap Wrap Label, a Thank You card and an Information card if you want to share your contact info with your swap partner.

If you share the Instagram pic on your feed (not the stories pic) with the #CraftyBeanieSwap I will choose a couple of random winners to receive a free pattern from my shop!

After you purchase your Entry Fee, you can go HERE and answer a few questions so I can organize the list of swap partners. There will be a spot on the survey for you to enter your 10 digit Etsy Transaction Number, this will allow me to make sure the entry fee has been purchased before adding you to the master swap list.

To find your Transaction number

  • Log into your Etsy account
  • Click the down arrow next to You
  • Purchases and Reviews
  • Find the entry fee purchas and click View Receipt

The entry fee will be available for purchase December 27th through January 3rd. After January 3rd, I will organize all the entries as soon as possible, and email you your swap partners information. All beanies will need to ship no later than January 14th.

UPDATE: Entries are now closed. We had nearly 200 people sign up, I had to close it early so it didn’t get too out of control for organizing buddies. Thank you so much to everyone who has entered! This will be fun!

Be sure to post pictures on social media using the hashtag #CraftyBeanieSwap (and tag your swap partner) so we can all see each other’s new beanies! I am so excited about this beanie swap! Thank you so much for joining me.

❤️Ashley

All signed up … twice! A girl needs some options for hats, right?! LOL. So excited about getting a knit hat! Hoping it will get me fired up to learn knitting in 2019!

Gutted I missed out on this!
Not sure if international would have been allowed but please keep me posted as I’d love to take part!
    Thanks
