Do you remember when Lion Brand Fettuccini t-shirt yarn was available at a few Dollar Trees? And everyone was buying like 20 skeins at a time?

I wasn’t so lucky, my Dollar Tree didn’t get any in, but I did have some from a previous hoarding after Lionbrand had a big sale on their website.

If you were one of the lucky dollar-tree-hoarding makers and now have a stockpile of t-shirt yarn and nothing to make with it… this one is for you!

In this video, I show how to make a sturdy rope-style DIY dog toy for your fur baby. This toy has a loop on one end and a knot on the other, it’s perfect for playing tug-a-war!

I didn’t write up the instructions for this tutorial becuase I explain it much better in video format. You can watch the full video tutorial below, and guess what, it’s only about 20 minutes long!!

Disclaimer– it’s not safe to leave your pup unattended with these tug toys. They could somehow tear it apart and ingest some of it, so always supervise when playing with this toy.

These toys would also be fun made out of recycled materials! So if you need a good quarantine project while you’re stuck at home, see what kind of material you have lying around that you can cut up to make a dog toy with.

I really want to try making one out of an old towel or a pair of blue jeans!

Last by not least, if you are here and you’re like where’s the crochet pattern?! You can find all my free crochet patterns here.
