Final Size

Notes

For the muzzle, I used 2 strands of Red Heart Super Saver yarn, which is a #4 worsted weight yarn in the color Soft White.

For the body, I used WeCrochet’s Fable Fur in the color Eisbar, Paloma, and Andesite, with coordinating tail colors.

For the nose and light pink rosette, I used 1 strand of a #3 light worsted weight yarn.

Also, for the nose and dark pink rosette, I used 1 strand of a #4 worsted weight yarn.

For the green leaf, I used 1 strand of a #4 worsted weight yarn.

Crochet Bunny Lovey Pattern

MUZZLE

Using TWO strands of color A and 6 mm hook:

Note: For the whole pattern ALL turning chains do NOT count as a stitch.

Round 1: Make a magic circle, ch 1, sc 6 into magic circle, sl st to join. (6)

Round 2: Do NOT ch 1, (your going to start working in the round) Sc-inc in ea st. (12)

Round 3: *Sc, sc-inc, repeat from* to end of rnd. (18)

Round 4: *Ch 1, sk 1, sc in next st, repeat from* to first ch 1 sp. (9 ch 1 sp) 

Tie off and weave in ends. 

HEAD

Using one strand of color B (faux fur), 10 mm hook:

Note: I use a stitch marker so I know where the row ends and also to mark where the different stitches begin/end.

To begin, add faux fur to the last ch 1 sp you created (see picture), and ch 1.

Round 1: Sc in first 3 ch-sps, hdc-inc in next 2 ch-sps, sc in last 4 ch-sps, sl st to join. (13)

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in first 3 sts, hdc-inc in next 4 sts, sc in last 4 sts, sl st to join. (15)

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in first 5 sts, hdc-inc in next 4 sts, sc in last 6 sts, sl st to join. (19)

Rounds 4-8: Ch 1, sc in ea st, sl st to join. (19)

Round 9: Ch 1, sc in first 5 sts, sc2tog in next 8 sts, sc in next 6 sts, sl st to join. (15)

Round 10: Ch 1, sc in first 5 sts, sc2tog in next 4 sts, sc in last 6 sts, sl st to join. (11)

Tie off and weave in ends! 

ATTACH (12 mm) safety eyes to completed head (I also recommend hot glueing the eyes on the inside of the head for extra security)

BODY

Using color B (faux fur), 10 mm hook:

The Body will connect to the head and close off the opening in the back of the head. It is important you have everything done with the head before you move on to the body including adding the safety eyes.

Pinching the top and bottom of the back of the head together, continues as follows:

Row 1: Ch 2, insert hook into Head, sc 7 sts across the head, then ch 2. (11)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc-inc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 9 sts, sc-inc in last st. (13)

Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc-inc in first st, sc in next 11 sts, sc-inc in last st. (15) 

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, sc-inc in first st, sc in next 13 sts, sc-inc in last st. (17) 

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc-inc in first st, sc in next 15 sts, sc-inc in last st. (19)

*Note: add a stitch marker on both sides of the last increase row, you will NEED them later*

Rows 6-21: Ch 1, turn, sc in ea st across. (19)

Do NOT tie off as you will continue below.

PAWS

Using color B (faux fur), 10mm hook:

Paw #1

Rows 22-28: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 4 sts. (4)

Tie off and weave in ends.

Paw #2

Insert your hook in the corner (opposite of the other leg), then yarn over and pull the yarn through.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first 4 sts. (4)

Rows 2-7: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 4 sts. (4)

Tie off and weave in ends.

Paws #3-4

Insert your hook (where your stitch marker is) in the corner by the head where

you stopped increasing, then yarn over and pull the yarn through.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first 4 sts. (4)

Rows 2-7: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 4 sts. (4)

Tie off weave in ends.

EDGING

Using one strand of color B (faux fur), 10mm hook:

Round 1: Sc around the bunny body starting at the neck and going to the top of the paw.

In the top of each paw, sc-inc in corner, hdc, dc, hdc and sc in the corner.

Tie off and weave in ends.

POINTY EARS

Outer Ears

Using one strand of color B and 6 mm hook, make 2:

Row 1: Ch 2, dc in 2nd ch from hook, and in next st. (2)

Row 2: Ch 2, turn, dc-inc in ea st across. (4)

Rows 3-4: Ch 2, turn, dc in ea st across. (4)

Row 5: Ch 2, turn, dc2tog in ea st. (2)

Row 6: Ch 2, turn, dc2tog in remaining 2 sts. (1)

Tie off leaving a long tail to sew onto the head.

Inner Ears

Using one strand of color C (faux fur) and 3.5 mm hook:

Do the same as Outer Ears. Leaving long tail to sew the ears together. 

Attaching inner ear to out ear:

Place the Inner Ear inside of the Outer Ear, and whip stitch the two ears together around the edge. Once done whip stitching the inner and outer ear together, pinch the base of the ears together to make the base thick and sturdy, so once it’s attached to head it will be very secure.

Attaching ears to bunny head:

Place the ears on the bunny head where desired and whip stitch the bottom of the ears onto the head.

FLOPPY EARS

Outer Ears

Using one strand of color B (faux fur) and 10 mm hook, make 2:

*Note* Leave a long tail to attach to head.

Row 1: Ch 5, dc in 2nd ch from hook, and in next 2 sts. (3)

Row 2: Ch 2, turn, dc in ea st across. (3)

Row 3: Ch 2, turn, dc-inc in first st, dc in next st, dc-inc in last st. (5)

Rows 4-5: Ch 2, turn, dc in ea st across. (5)

Row 6: Ch 2, turn, dc2tog in first 2 sts, dc in next st, dc2tog in last 2 sts. (3)

Row 7: Ch 2, turn, dc3tog in remaining 3 sts. (1)

Tie off.

Inner Ears

Using one strand of color C (faux fur) and 6 mm hook, make 2:

*Note* leave a long tail to sew ears together.

Row 1: Ch 4, dc in 2nd ch from hook, and in next st. (2)

Row 2: Ch 2, turn, dc-inc in ea st across. (4)

Rows 3-5: Ch 2, turn, dc in ea st across. (4)

Row 6: Ch 2, turn, dc4tog in remaining 4 sts. (1)

Tie off.

NOSE

Using one strand of color D and 3.5 mm hook:

Round 1: Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, and in ea ch across, flipping to the bottom of the ch, hdc in bottom of the same ch, dc in next ch, hdc in last ch, sl st to join.

Tie off leaving long tail to sew onto muzzle.

Sewing nose onto muzzle:

Place the bottom of the nose slightly above the center hole, then whip stitch the nose on.

Using one strand of color E and darning needle: 

Make a Y shape over the Light Pink Nose area.

Bring eyes together:

Take a piece of yarn and go back and forth from one eye to another “pinching” them to make a more realistic bunny look.

TAIL

Using one strand of color C (faux fur) and 6 mm hook:

Round 1: Make a magic circle, sc 5 into ring, sl st to join. (5)

Round 2: Ch 1, sc-inc in ea st around, sl st to join. (10)

Round 3: Ch 1, sc2tog in ea st, sl st to join. (5) 

Tie off leaving long tail to sew on between hind legs.

Stuff with Poly-Fil and attach between hind legs.

ROSETTE

Light Pink Rose

Using one strand of color D and 4.5 mm hook:

Row 1: Ch 8, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in ea st across. (7)

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, *sl st, ch 1, dc 3, ch 1, and sl st,* repeat 3 times, in next st, *sl st, ch 1, hdc 3, ch 1, sl st,* repeat 2 times, in next st, *sl st, ch 1, sc 3, ch 1, sl st,* repeat in last 2 sts. 

Tie off leaving long tail to sew rose together.

Sewing rose together:

Wrap the rose in a spiral shape starting in the middle of the rose and working to the edge, using long tail to secure into shape.

For the larger dark pink rose use one strand of color E and 6 mm hook following the same steps as light pink rose.

Green Leaf

Using one strand of color F and 4.5 mm hook:

Rnd 1: Ch 5, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch and flipping to bottom of ch, hdc again, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch, sl st to join. 

Tie off leaving long tail to sew onto roses.

Sewing roses and leaf together:

Sew the two roses together working back and forth from one rose to another. Once the two roses are secure, attach the leaf in the back.

Sew onto head in desired location.
