Easy Crochet Earrings Pattern

Step 1: Cut two pieces of cotton cord about 7 inches long.

Step 2: Using your size C crochet hook and fingering weight yarn, SC 25 stitches around the cotton cord. Tie off leaving a tail about 12 inches long.

Step 3: Squish your SC stitches where they are lined up near the center of your cotton cord and create a cluster about 2 inches wide.

Step 4: Fold your cotton cord in half and knot your two yarn tails together on the back of the loop you created when folding your cord in half.

Step 5: Wrap your long tail around where the cotton cord is coming out from the bottom of your stitches down about 7 times and back up for a total of 12 times.

Pro Tip: You want to get as close to your first and last SC stitches as possible, maybe even cover them once or twice while wrapping your yarn.

Step 6: Knot your two tails together on the back of your loop again.

Step 7: Adjust your loop by holding the two cord tails in one hand and GENTLY pushing up on the wrap-around section with the other hand.

This will squish all your stitches together and give the earring a more finished look.

Pro Tip: if you can see the cord sticking out above the wrap-around section, pull on that side of the cord only while pushing the stitches together and that should disappear.

Step 8: Using your tapestry needle, sew in your two yarn tails.

Step 9: Using your needle nose pliers, open the loop on your earring finding and insert it into the SC in the middle of your stitches. Make sure to go under both loops of the SC stitch.

Gently pinch the earring finding loop closed.

Step 10: Unravel your cord tails, and us a small tooth comb to adjust your now fringe. Trim to the desired shape, with sharp scissors.

Repeat all the steps for your second earring, using your first earring as a guide for wrapping and squishing your loop and trimming your fringe.
