Crochet Glasses Case Pattern

Follow this free crochet glasses case pattern to learn how to make a fun taco-shaped glasses holder for keeping your glasses or sunglasses protected on the go.

Materials
– Worsted Weight Yarn in Mustard, Green and Brown
– H 5.0mm Crochet Hook
– Tapestry Needle
– Scissors
– Keychain Findings
– Button (mine is about 1/2 inch)
– Sewing Needle and Thread

Stitch Key (US Terms)
CH = Chain
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
INC = Increase (2 stitches in same spot)
BLO = Back Loop Only
SLST = Slip Stitch
YO = Yarn Over
* = To Be Repeated

Special Stitches
Magic Circle: If you are unfamiliar with the Magic Circle/Ring method you are welcome to chain 3, join, and crochet in the circle you created.

Camel Hump: The horizontal line on the back of your stitch. See pattern photos for more info.

Taco Crochet Glasses Case

Using your H hook and Mustard yarn

Note: CH 2 does not count as a stitch.

Row 1: DC 12 into a Magic Circle, join to first DC, CH 2. (12)

Row 2: INC in each stitch around, join to first DC, CH 2. (24)

Row 3: *INC, DC* around, join to first DC, CH 2. (36)

Row 4: *INC, DC 2* around, join to first DC, CH 2. (48)

Row 5: *INC, DC 3* around, join to first DC, CH 2. (60)

Your circle should be about 5.50″ in diameter.

Change to brown yarn. Cut the yellow yarn, leaving a tail long enough to weave in later.

Row 6 is worked in the Back Loop of Row 5.

Using your brown yarn

Row 6: *SC INC, SC 4* in the BLO of each stitch around, join into first SC, CH 1. (72)

Change to green yarn. Cut your brown yarn leaving a tail long enough to weave in later.

Row 7 is worked in the Camel Hump of Row 6.

Row 7: *CH 3, skip 1 stitch, SLST in the Camel Hump of the next stitch*. Continue around. End by placing a SLST into the same stitch as your first CH 3. Cut green yarn leaving a tail long enough to sew in and tie off.

Using a tapestry needle, sew in all your tails.

Fold the taco in half and decide on button placement. Make sure your button is the right size to squeeze between two DC stitches from Row 5. Sew your button in place on the inside of your taco. (Taco should be wrong side facing up when you sew on your button.)

Attach a keychain finding of your choice to the side of your taco and you’re all done!

Now you have a fun way to safely store your glasses or sunglasses! You can attach the keychain to a pool bag, backpack, purse, sports bag, or even a water bottle! Taco-bout a great solution!
