The Crafty Pumpkin Rattle is the perfect fall-themed baby gift! They may be too small to pick out a pumpkin at the pumpkin patch but they will love shaking their own special pumpkin!

This pattern was designed off of my Crafty Boho Pillow pattern and made specifically for some fun pumpkin kits I sold in my Etsy shop.

I got a lot of positive feedback from the pattern, once I was able to share it online, so I wanted to make it available for everyone! I hope you love it!!

Continue putting the stitch marker in the last SC of each round so you know where the next round should end.

Stem: Front Panel
Join your brown yarn into one of the stitches in row 12 of your rattle.

Rows 1-5: SC 6. CH 1, turn. Tie off and sew in tails.

For the back panel, attach your brown yarn in the stitch right by your last stitch when you made the back. This will make assembly easier. Repeat steps from front panel.

Vine: Just make one
With your green yarn, CH 12.

DC 4 in the third CH from the hook. DC 4 in the next 9 stitches. (40)

Assembly:
Line up your front and back panels together, wrong sides touching. Insert your hook into a stitch on your front panel, grab the working yarn from the back panel and pull through, chain 1 to secure.

I like to attach in the stitch right next to the base of the stem (left side).

Starting in the same space where you just joined, begin to SC around,  making sure to line up the stitches and go through both the front and back panels of the rattle. Stuff your pumpkin and insert the rattle noisemaker before closing it up all the way.

Once you get to the last single crochet using the orange yarn, switch to brown. Begin to single crochet the stems together (just like you did for the body pieces). You will be working in the raw edge of the stem, so you will have to make spaces for your hook to go.

After you get the right side of your stem crocheted together, attach your vine. Just pull each tail into the stem with your crochet hook, knot them securely together, then sew in the ends to ensure it won’t come undone.

Continue crocheting around your stem, putting two single crochets in each of the two top corners. Be sure to stuff before it is completely closed. Join back into your first single crochet, tie off and sew in loose ends.
